My best friend Tania decided that she was going to do her perfume room (yes, it is for storing and displaying her perfume collection in... try to keep up) in an Alice in Wonderland theme. Not necessarily the Disney version only but with bits and pieces from all the different variations done over the years.

Since I'm still poor and Tania still has birthdays, I decided to do up some embroidery pieces with various scenes from the movie. I found some coloring book pages online and transferred them to some fabric (really, flour tea towels I was going to eventually embroidery with something) and am now working on outlining them in backstitch and will eventually "color" in with pencils. Then all I have to do is pony up the dough for some nice frames and voila! Homemade gifts that may only be a couple months late for her actual birthday.

Here's some photos of them in progress. I managed to fit all 4 scenes on each corner of the towel. They'll eventually be cut apart and framed individually though.

First is the Queen of Hearts croquet scene:

I have all the backstitching done on this one first as it was the least labor-intensive. I only just bought some colored pencils today so I'll try my hand at coloring everything in later tonight or perhaps tomorrow or this weekend.

The rest of the photos are just the markings of where I'm going to stitch over.

The Mad Hatter and March Hare's Tea Party:

The Tulgey Wood Inhabitants (this will definitely take me awhile):

The Garden "It's a WEED!" scene:

As you can see, I've got a lot of work ahead of me. I'll be sure to update these when they're finally finished.
